Cross the Dhofar mountains to the ruins of Ubar, the legendary caravan city of the frankincense trade, then drive into the towering dunes of the Rub Al Khali, the Empty Quarter. Ubar and Wadi Dawkah, with its wild frankincense trees, are both part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Land of Frankincense”.
