Oman’s big landscapes in six days. From Muscat, climb to Jabal Shams and the rim of the Grand Canyon, explore Nizwa, ride the dunes of the Wahiba Sands, and follow the eastern coast to Ras Al Jinz, where green turtles come ashore to nest.

Day 1 :

Arrival in Muscat

Arrive in Muscat and meet your guide. Start with the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and its fine Islamic architecture, then wander through Mutrah Souq, where crafts, spices and frankincense tell of Oman’s trading past. End with a stroll along the Mutrah Corniche, looking over the harbour and the old town.

Day 2 :

Muscat – Jabal Shams

Drive to Jabal Shams, the highest mountain in Oman, and the edge of the Grand Canyon. Walk along the rim, stop at the viewpoints and enjoy the cool mountain air.

Day 3 :

Jabal Shams – Nizwa

After breakfast, drive down to Nizwa. In Nizwa, the old capital of the interior, climb the great round tower of Nizwa Fort for the view over the oasis, then browse Nizwa Souq for silver, pottery, dates and local produce.

Day 4 :

Nizwa – Wahiba Sands

Head for the golden dunes of the Wahiba Sands. Try dune driving in a 4x4, a camel ride or sandboarding, watch the sunset over the sand and spend the evening at a desert camp.

Day 5 :

Wahiba Sands – Ras Al Jinz – Muscat

Watch the sun rise over the sand, then drive to the eastern coast and Ras Al Jinz, one of the most important nesting beaches of the green turtle (sightings depend on the season). Then follow the coast back to Muscat, with photo stops on the way.

Day 6 :

Departure

Breakfast, then our driver takes you to the airport in Muscat in good time for your flight.
