Overview

A hike for experienced walkers. Starting from the plateau at about 2,000 metres, the trail follows the rim of the Grand Canyon and climbs steadily to the summit ridge of Jabal Shams, the highest mountain in Oman, at close to 3,000 metres. The views reach over Wadi Nakhar, Wadi Sahtan and Wadi Bani Awf to distant peaks such as Jabal Misht.
