    Tell us your dates and which rig you'd like — we confirm availability within a day.

  2. Pick up & briefing

    A full walkthrough of the vehicle and gear at handover, plus a route briefing if you'd like one — including how the tent and recovery gear work.

  3. Hit the road

    Follow our route notes or go your own way — one WhatsApp number for anything that comes up along the way.

  4. Drop off

    Return the vehicle, we do a quick joint inspection together, and your deposit is released.

Insurance, explained simply

What's covered, in plain terms.

Rental insurance is usually where the confusion happens. Here's the short version — the FAQ below covers the specific questions.

  • Collision Damage Waiver, included as standard

    Every rental includes CDW, which limits your liability for accidental damage to the vehicle.

  • A refundable security deposit is held at pickup

    Held on your card at handover, released after the joint inspection when you return the vehicle.

  • An excess applies to damage claims

    The exact amount depends on your vehicle class — we'll confirm it clearly before you book, not after something happens.

  • Off-road driving is covered, with a short briefing first

    Genuine dune and off-road driving is covered under the same policy — we just ask every self-drive guest to sit through a quick briefing beforehand.

Before you book

Questions self-drive guests actually ask.

Is insurance included in the rental price?

Yes — Collision Damage Waiver is included as standard on every rental. A refundable security deposit and an excess still apply for damage; we'll confirm the exact figures for your vehicle class when you book.

Can I add an extra driver?

Yes — extra drivers can be added at booking or at pickup. Each extra driver needs to be present with their licence at handover and is covered under the same policy, for a small additional fee.

Does adding an extra driver cost more?

There's a small per-day fee to add a second driver to the insurance, since both names need to be covered on the policy. We'll quote it alongside your rental total.

Where can I pick up and drop off the vehicle?

Most guests collect from our Muscat office or arrange airport pickup — we can also arrange delivery to your hotel. One-way rentals ending in a different city can sometimes be arranged; ask us when you book.

What are the driver age and licence requirements?

Drivers generally need to be 25 or older, with a valid licence held for at least two years. An International Driving Permit alongside your home licence is recommended.

Is off-road or dune driving covered by insurance?

Standard cover includes normal road and graded-track driving. Genuine off-road and dune driving is covered too, but we ask every self-drive guest to sit through a short briefing first — most damage claims come from guests who skipped it.

What happens if I get stuck or break down?

Every rig leaves with recovery gear and our direct number. For anything you can't resolve yourself, we dispatch help — most of Oman's main routes are within a few hours of a recovery vehicle.

Can I drive into the UAE?

It depends on the vehicle and your insurance. Let us know in advance if you're planning to cross the border and we'll confirm whether it's possible and what extra cover is needed.

Is there a mileage limit?

Most rentals come with a generous daily allowance that comfortably covers a normal touring itinerary. Ask us for the exact figure if you're planning an especially long route.

What's your cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to a set number of days before pickup, with reduced refunds closer to your date. We'll confirm the exact terms when you book.
